Welcome to a space where you can have a lot of fun while learning the German language. You may not even realize how much you are learning because you'll be so busy playing, singing, reading, crafting, experimenting, and making friends. We focus on a variety of topics, often determined by the season and holidays we celebrate. Nature plays an important role; arts and crafts are often involving nature materials.
Kleine Schule is a German Bilingual Preschool, where we believe in the power of language acquisition and social - emotional learning.
At Kleine Schule, we provide a nurturing and inclusive environment that fosters the development of young minds through the integration of two key components: learning a second language and promoting social-emotional growth.
Our program is designed to give children the opportunity to become bilingual in both German and English, laying a strong foundation for future language learning.
At Kleine Schule we are aiming for a good balance between structure and free play. Children often take what has been provided to them from a lesson and just take off, they might enact a play from a story they have just read or lose themselves at the water table after they have explored a sink float science experiment. We believe that during their imaginary play most learning will take place.
To create a stimulating and challenging climate in the school, we have a wide variety of activities available to the children, similar to a traditional “Deutschen Kindergarten”, including art, music, building projects for large and small motor skills, books, dance, puzzles, imaginative play and much more.
Non-German speakers and German speakers alike are immersed into German culture and learn the language through repetition of our daily routines and songs, as well as through interactions with other children, parents, and the teacher. Each child learns the language at her own pace. First, the child comes to understand the meaning of the words, much like an infant and toddler does in its beginning stage of language development. Once the child becomes more familiar and comfortable with the language, speaking comes more naturally.
But our focus extends beyond language learning. We recognize the importance of social emotional development by creating a supportive and caring atmosphere where children feel safe to explore their emotions, build relationships and develop essential social life skills.
At Kleine Schule children engage in a variety of activities to promote overall well being. Such as how to express our feelings and needs, develop empathy and understanding for others and practice problem solving and conflict resolution skills.

Our program runs five days a week, Monday to Friday from 9am to 3pm.
Tuition for the 2024/2025 school year: $1600 plus an annual admin, material, and enrichment fee.
We welcome families with children from 2 to 5 years of age.
